On display, for the first time, will be contemporary British artist Faye Toogood’s Puffy collection, as well as the Boa Pouf by New Zealand-Dutch designer Sabine Marcelis. We are also previewing the new Stump Table collection by Faye Toogood featuring two new coffee tables and a side table which will be available online from 10th November.
The new Stump Table collection is developed from Faye Toogood’s exploration of working with MDF, finding ways to create beautiful rounded shapes without using solid timber. The challenge of the development was to make these hollow forms look like solid pieces as if sculpted from a single piece of material. The result is a series of tables that are reduced to their most basic elements to create an understated and elegant form.
Alongside the Stump collection, we’re launching the new Puffy Ottoman by Faye Toogood, offering the perfect accompaniment to the Puffy Lounge Chair which was first unveiled in October 2020 and is one of the brand’s most successful launches to date. Offering a tactile take on the enduring concept of steel-framed furniture, the chair is now available in a wider range of upholsteries and finishes, which can be mixed and matched, including an expressive, thick, wide Bouclé textile entitled Bute Storr Sawdust – a pale mahogany brown – and Bute Storr Eggshell – a creamy off-white tone.
Visitors to the space can also experience Boa Pouf for the first time in person, our first collaboration with Sabine Marcelis that launched in May 2021. The Boa Pouf marks Marcelis’ first foray into soft form furniture; a beautifully rounded, foam-filled seat upholstered in melange wool made using a shape-knitting technique that eliminates all visible seams or ridges – a high-tech process rarely seen in furniture design.
Alongside these new designer collaborations, Hem Garden & Gallery will unveil the fifth limited edition accessory by Martino Gamper, curated by Modern Design Review, to be launched later this year.
